Yesterday was a very busy day here. I had a lot to do around the house and then I had to go to a funeral, followed by a visit to my mother, so I didn't get out to any blogs. I didn't have time to even pick up my camera at all, so I woke up this morning and wondered what I would do for today's posting. .
I dug into some files today for something a little different. A break from one of my walks, these pictures take us to springtime at local farm where I sometimes stop after watching the sunrise in the hills.
.
On this particular morning, the animals were making quite a squawk. What noise they made! This goose was standing over by the pond flapping his wings excitedly..
While these two birds were distracted with love,
The grey goose stood and watched the pairing.
The white geese had other things on their minds,.
As they rode their wave of passion back onto land.
The trio met for a conference.
The victorious male did his traditional wing-flap.
Having had their conversation, the grey thought it was now time to move on. The white geese showed off their beautiful wings
And continued to sing.
But, the male goose continued this wing flapping performance and the female sang her songs of love.
Suddenly... What's that horrendous noise that is drowning out their passionate ritual?.

I'd forgotten this great goose action you got! Really wonderful captures of their behavior. Good suspence leading up to tomorrow too!
Geese are so much fun, I could watch them for hours!
Absolutely beautiful!!!! These are wonderful photos.
Oh, you gotta love spring when love is in the air!
Wonderful shots! They certainly do flap and frolic in joy don't they? I've never seen them do this....wonderful to catch all that action.
Yes it is spring and these noisy beauties will announce it to everyone. How funny..Great shots.
Good morning, Bruce. Thanks a bunch! This time of year is interesting to watch the birds and animals because of the mating and the nesting building that's going on. In a couple of months, we'll be treated to all the little babies, and then it really gets to be fun.
Hi Dave, I agree about geese. They have such personality.
Hi Me and My Camera! Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Hi John! Spring is in the air and so is love in the treetops here. The squirrels are already building nests.
Hi Mary! Thank you. They certainly do. I love watching ducks and geese rituals. The male will do the wing flaps and the female dips her head in the water and bathes.
Good morning, Stacey! Thanks. It's really great to see everything come alive in the spring.
Amazing pics. I'm quite goose fan. Maybe not quite as much as I love ducks but they come close.
Thanks.
Your gooses feel the spring time too! :-)

My Small Sprog loved these photos (he wanted the sound too though!) and so did I.
My first visit here and wow! What a beautiful blog! I'm so glad I found you. I love, love, love birds.
There is an eagles nest we can see with field glasses from our front yard over on the Connecticut River. There are three eggs this year. In the summer, we will see them flying over the river.
Once, when we plunked our picnic stuff on the river bank, we heard this great gust of wings and from the trees flew a massive bald eagle, very close to us, leaving two feathers behind. We just gazed up, our mouths open in awe.
Back to your lovely photos!
Peace,
Pagan Sphinx
Hi Suzanne, It's nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I thought your blog was really interesting - especially the "five things" theme. :)
Hi Suburbia, That's so cute! I do actually have a video of that day. It doesn't show these particular geese, but there were three groups of geese that morning - the ones in these pictures, the ones in the video who are riled up because of what was going on around them, and some others who were fighting and were really noisy. I'll post those pictures tomorrow.
If you want to see & hear the video, it's here:

I was filming the deer while somebody was tossing her carrots and then finally I started paying attention to the geese. Turn your sound on. :)
Hi Pagan Sphinx, Thank you for stopping by and for your nice comments. Fantastic about your eagles!! I hope you get a lot of pictures. Our family used to have a home on the Connecticut River here in Connecticut. We would sit poolside and Eagles often soared overhead. Such beautiful creatures!
