RI Zoo 1

Hi everyone, Thanks for the kind comments. On Saturday, I visited the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence, RI. It was a relaxing day and the weather was fine. The zoo currently has a lot of construction going on, so there were a lot of animals I didn't get to see, like ellies, zebra, cheetah, etc. Some of the critters were too far and in the shade and my pictures were blurry, but I did get lots of pictures to share.

Some of the things I saw there...

Emu

Checking me out?

Humboldt Penguin

White Breasted Cormorant

Scratch, scratch

Whose claw is this?

Aha! A Harbor Seal

And a companion

African Crowned Crane

Pretty enough to show you another

Aoudad aka Barbary Sheep

He looked very sweet

Wildebeests

I'm glad you got out and those are wonderful photos! Such unusual shots in one way or another. The bluish color of the Emu head...the feathers on that Cormorant's back...the seal claw...etc. All terrific!

What a nice zoo...a lot of diversity. And from what you say you missed, there's even more!

There is so much close to me I haven't gotten around to seeing yet. It's not like RI is 100's of miles away!

Great photos, thanks for sharing.

Very nice! I love crowned cranes, myself. It'd be nice if zoos announced any animals that aren't accessable on any given day. Even just a sign at the front gate. Not fair to pay full price, then realize you're not getting the whole show.

That african crowned crane was so sassy and beautiful!

Wow those claws are amazing!!

Love the photos I do like Zoos. I know they are not always the best places to keep these animals but sadly it is often the only chance we get to view these wonderful animals,

That crowned cane looks as if it knows just how pretty it is! And the Harbor Seal paw - wow - you really got me with that one - I had NO IDEA! Very cool perspective - loved it!
